Welcome to NAMI Shiawassee

Our Mission

To provide support, education and advocacy for people with mental illnesses and their families. To promote better quality of care, rights and interests of people with mental illness, particularly of those who cannot speak for themselves and to advocate policies at local, state and national levels to accomplish these objectives. To help families and friends of people with mental illness by providing emotional support, education and information.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Shiawassee is a volunteer run organization that provides free Family to Family classes and Family Support Groups to the community. These programs promote education, empowerment, and encouragement for families living with mental illness. Both recovering consumers and their families are serviced by these programs.
